Government Rebates

Both the federal and state governments are supporting solar renewable energy. The feds offer it in the form of a tax exemption for 30% of labor & materials used for installation of both solar photovoltaic systems and solar hot water systems.

As of 2009 there is no monetary cap on the 30% exemption for photovoltaic and a $2,000 cap on hot water system from the Fed. It is a 1 time deduction that can be applied over 2 years. The state offers it in the form of a cash back program. Both programs are included in the PDF document below. Please contact your accountant or financial adviser.
